01Disrupt the balance between home and city

The home warmly envelops the person, and the city coldly pushes the person away. Home and city resist each other and keep the balance. One small morning, I imagined trying to lose the balance of the two just a little. If the boundaries between the home and city are disrupted, the world must be slightly modified. So I decided to move "Home" to the city. What happens when i carry my "Home" into a city? To test this, I decided to transport my "Home" from my house to a park in Ikebukuro. It was one autumn day.

02Carry "Home" to the city

Of course, it is impossible to transport an actual house. Therefore, we decided to use a circular seat with a diameter of 5 meters to represent "Home." In the morning, I spread out "Home" in my house and lived in it, and then at night I packed it into a box. A small light bulb was attached to the box and the light of "Home" was lit. "Home" was put away in the box. I ran out the front door and started the long walk from my house to Ikebukuro, carrying the box. I took a step forward, one step at a time. After a while, I reached my destination and took "Home" out of the box. In this way, "Home" was brought into the city.

03When the "Home" becomes lively

At first, "Home" was empty, but gradually friends gathered and left their favorite furniture and things there. Gradually, the space above the seats began to become lively, and it began to look like a real home. I acted like we were at home, but I didn't do anything special. I simply lived my unchanging daily life on "Home". Eat bread, talk with friends, read a book, lie down. As a result, the homely atmosphere and comfort that only a home can provide leaked into the public space, creating a strange feeling as if the entire city had become a home.

04Various events occur through "Home"

Attracted by the warm living room-like atmosphere, many children came in and started drawing. We act as if our grandchildren were visiting, without any special entertainment. The children had fun and got to know each other, and the mothers were able to interact with each other. After a while, a stranger came into "Home", attracted by the posters, and we started talking about history. It was a fascinating event. Unexpected events appear throughout "Home." Even though “Home” was just cariied into the city.

05Bring home "Home" from the city

When "Home" is brought into a city, new interactions, new encounters, and new connections are born. When "Home" is brought into a city, it begins to reveal the scenery and experiences unique to that region. When "Home" was brought into the city, it was a great discovery that important things hidden within the city appeared. The day ends with the sun turning red, so I have to take home "Home" with me. I packed "Home" back into the box and walked home from the park. The light in the box was still on. Where should I walk next?
